Awesome B-ball gameJan 25, 2009

"Exit 27 is for lovers"
First off, let me just say that I'm a huge b-ball fan, which is obviously important when rating a game like this. And it's not just streetball I like, either. NBA, International League etc, it's all good to me.
When it comes to basketball games, nothing can really top EA and their Live series. 2K has better graphics, but worse controls. And NBA is just plain bad. Even titles like NBA Street and Ballers can't compete. But And 1 comes dangerously close, and here's why;
Unlike most of the above mentioned titles (excluding 2K), And 1 has incredible graphics for a ps2 game. I seriously had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't my 360 I had plugged instead.
Like Live, the ablility to use R3 as a freestyle controller is essential, but And 1 takes it a step further with tons of sick moves. There are so many that I haven't even tried them all yet.
Shooting, passing, alley-oops etc can be a little tricky at first, but once you find the right pressure sensitive motions and time the controls right, it becomes incredibly easy.
The eye-toy feature is a plus and unique to And 1.
Two years later, this is still one of my favorite games. If you like NBA Street, you'll love And 1 Streetball. A must for any b-ball fan ps2 owner.

AND 1 StreetballJun 12, 2006
By HardwareHoser Great game made by basketball fans for basketball nuts. Like how easy is to alley-oop to self and player. It's fast and responsive. I had no problem with my copy on the slim PS2 as reported. Most be a bad PS2 that kid has.

I was looking forward to this?Jun 08, 2006

As one that couldn't stand NBA Ballers, I thought I would give this game a try.
Pros:
create a baller
Nice graphics
Cons:
Defense? If you are a fan of Pheonix Sun basketball, you will love this game
The announcer needs to learn ENGLISH
The whole "I-Ball Trick Stick" is horrible and will have you sreaming as you're stuck on the second side game that is required before you can advance on And 1 tour
That stupid mic trick that allows you to score 4 points with one shot
Stupid Watch This Trick that you can't stop despite the fact that you can still move your player. You can't even block!
You can not choose who you want to face in other game modes unless you are playing two player.
Guess which game I'll be trading for NBA Live 2007 or WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 this fall?

Worst disappointment ever.Jun 08, 2006
Speaking as a die-hard And 1 fan, this game was a major disappointment. Within the first five minutes of playing, I knew this game was one of the hugest busts in video game history.
Pros:
......
Cons:
Horrible gameplay graphics
Impossible to score in a five on five game
Defense doesn't work against even the easiest of opponents
Music sucks, of course
The whole "I-Ball Trick Stick" junk is horrible; doesn't help at all
Shooting is too tough
Running around is choppy; almost unrealistic
When dunking, hands don't even touch the rim
The players can't make layups
All in all, this game sucks. I am sad to say so, for I enjoy the And 1 franchise. My suggestion: Don't even rent. Go buy NBA Live 06 or March Madness 06 for a much enjoyable basketball experience.
Better luck next time, And 1.

DEFECT- Doesn't work on Slim PS2!!!!Jun 09, 2006

I haven't even got to play it yet because the game does not work on my PS2. After the PS2 logo comes up, the screen goes blank and nothing happens. I thought it was maybe just that disc, but I exchanged it and the same thing happened. I called Ubisoft and they said many people with the Slim PS2 have called to say it doesn't work, but they don't have any answers. Sony said that it is an error in the format of the discs, and it may not work in many PS2's. Do not buy if you don't want the risk of it not working!!!!!
