A blast from the past worth revisitingFeb 07, 2002
By Earl Green Though some of these games - namely Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command and Tempest - have been featured on past Playstation compilations before (as well as updated into more modern versions of themselves), it's nice to see them again in this compilation. "Atari Anniversary Redux" offers half a dozen games not previously emulated for the Playstation: Gravitar, Black Widow, Asteroids Deluxe, Pong, Warlords and Space Duel. It's also a big step up for the vector graphics games, with two modes of resolution to make sure the game is as sharp as it can be on your monitor. The cabinet art is a neat touch, but luckily it can be turned off since it often compresses the playing field into an almost unplayably small size. The Nolan Bushnell interviews are nice, as is the slide show of Atari memorabilia, but then games are what really count, and they're represented well here.

Bushnell's classic 1971 anthologyJun 26, 2004
By Kathleen Kenney In 1971,Nolan Bushnell invented the first video game,Pong. He decided to call its company Susiucchiee. But Later he changed the company's name to Atari because no one seemed to know how to spell or pronounce the original.I really love this game.Plus it also has interviews with Nolan Bushnell,Atari Memorabilla,Excerpts fom the book known as Phoenix and a free sticker.I have this on the Playstaion format.I love playing Asteroids,Asteroids Deluxe,BattleZone,Missle Command,Black Widow and Centipede but Pong was what made this disk great.Buy the 30th annioversary edition today.

Great old games !Jan 07, 2012
By unclefilo I bought this game mainly for Asteroids, centipide and Black widow.I played the other games but those 3 where the ones i liked more.I am ussing the PS3 80G 2usb port and a 1080p LCD tv to play this games and I can't get to see the laser shots in both Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe, this is frustrating because you can hear the sound of the shots but not see them.ALso try playing PONG with the PS3 control !!!! it's nearly imposible to control the sliding bar and rebound the ball; same aplies to Super Breakout. One more thing, in the description and on the CD it says you get a FREE ATARI STICKER, this is not true.I looked everywhere and i couldn't find it.

Has some classics.....Aug 25, 2009
By Chris I love this game. It has Centipede, Black Widow, Asteroids, which are my favorites, and some others I care less for: Battlezone, Gravitar, Missile Command, Pong, Super Breakout, Tempest and Warlords. The three games I like make it worth having to me. If you are like me and like the classic games, you will like this cd. I wish that all my favorites were on there, but this is a good addition. Several of the games, such as Pong and Breakout, did much, much better with the paddle controllers that were sold for the original Atari consoles. Those games are too difficult to play with a playstation controller. It makes it challenging with Centipede, but I still found it fun to play. I like many of the classic games, because a lot of the newer games make me dizzy with all the 3-D and movement. It's a shame they could'nt have put pacman, bosconian and galaga on the same cd as these, but I understand they want to make more profit. I play this on a Playstation 1 console, and it functioned well.

Fun games, but not all that it advertises.Dec 30, 2011
By Liam Barnes Love most of these games; however, I was disappointed that neither Millipede nor Crystal Castles was actually on the disk. I bought this specifically for CC, so irritated for the false advert. Luckily I like the rest and am glad to have them. I don't know, maybe the other two are on the disk somewhere as easter eggs, but I wouldn't buy expecting them.
