3It gets old fastNov 27, 2007
By Chris Pedigo "Chris"
The demo on Xbox Live was awesome, the demo included the entire first level, and was very fun.

The actual game really held to the demo in quality for the first couple levels, but slowly petered out. They stopped adding convenient lethal environmental factors that you could destroy.

Basically if you loved the demo, you will enjoy the game, if you just though the demo was fun but not spectacular don't bother.

3Bronze Medal, Good "Filling" GameSep 20, 2009
By E. Larson "Vatti"
Stranglehold is fun, yet flawed. It's a flashy action game in which you leap through the air, guns akimbo and blazing, killing 5 enemies with a well-placed bullet in a propane tank.

The slow-motion shooting is great fun, but the little gimmicks: running on railings, swinging from chandeliers, rolling on trolleys, diving through windows, get old after repetition; never un-fun, mind you, just old. The first few levels are truly magnificent, but it seems to run out of ideas in the second half, mainly focusing on the gun play rather than the environmental kill factors, and the last level in particular is a test of everyone's patience. Throw nigh-invincible bosses into the mix, a rail shooter segment, and the aforementioned running out of steam in the second half into the mix... Well, It's no Mona Lisa.

I can't really think of worse things to say about it than "It gets a bit old" and "The second half kinda sucks". Overall, it's a solid game, like a dependable Labrador retriever, or macaroni and cheese. Don't expect much meat, but if you're looking for a good starchy game, you can't go wrong.

Stranglehold is a great game that takes a good while to beat. The environments are totally destructible and the action is top notch!

13hr game not my cup of teaAug 28, 2008
By Jack A. Lana
I bought this the same time I bought Hard Boiled. And Like the movie I thought it had too much and way too much action no story what so ever. This game is just like that but it has horrid voice acting I've every seen and Heard.

The only good thing about this game you play one of my fav actors Chow-Yun-Fat. But that's about it. If you had Max Payne and this next to each other, Max Payne is way more better.

I strongly recommend you don't buy this game along with The Sum of All Fears. Stranglehold will not make an imprint in my book.

Yak!
