Based on the direct-to-video release of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, this eponymous title is quite simply one of the worst superhero video games ever made--which means, considering how awful entries in this genre tend to be, that it's pretty darn bad.
Contrary to the futuristic theme of the Batman Beyond cartoon series, this pathetic effort is hopelessly dated in terms of gameplay--which is of the side-scrolling brawler variety--as well as graphics and sound, both of which would have been barely passable on the last generation of video game systems. And, given this relic's clumsy, unintuitive controls, even retro video game fans will have a hard time stomaching this one. --Joe Hon

I will beging this by saying I do not own this game. That fact pleases me to no end. The gameplay, story, extremely low AI, and over all game quality of this game leave me with the impression that a seven year old with basic programming knowledge made it. Believe it or not, "Superman" looks like a great game compared to this carcinogenic cartrige (yes, it's that bad). I end this review with a warning: stay away from this game if you want your image of videogames as a whole to stay untainted.

I find this the best superhero game ever. If you liked the movie and like the series you are going to love this game. There are lots of Gadgets and Batsuits and Batman's fighting skills are awsome. You can also fly .You must save Bruce Wayne and defeat the evil Joker. Believe me you will definetly like this game.And if you liked this game you are also going to love Spider-man.

You know before I rented this game I thought it would be the best because the cartoon was pretty cool. But it isn't, we all have our own opinion about this game so I'm going to tell you mine. It is the worst game I have EVER played I'd be lying if i said that this game was better than the first mario. It was a waste of money a waste time and a waste of effort... I just finnisyhed layingg batman a few minuter ago because i just rented it so i'm telling you now after this if you still feel that you want to play the game if your friend has it play it there or borrow it or rent. BUT I TELL YOU NOW DO NOT BUY IT BEFORE YOU HAVE BORROWED IT, PLAYED IT AT A FRIENDS OR RENTED IT. They make it sound good but trust me I've never seen more of a bad game for N64 in my life.
P.S. I couldn't put a half a star there so there so I only put one.

By David White A few words of advice: Do not buy this game. If you so badly need to play it, I suggest renting it. I had high hopes. I paid $50 for the game. $50 for an hour of mild entertainment. When I realized I had beat the game after only an hour I was highly disappointed. I'm not a big fan of fighting games (if you can even call this a fighting game), so for me to beat the game in an hour was simply amazing. Someone more into fighting games could probably beat the game in a half hour. It's that easy and short. You'd think they could have done better...
