Flying BEE! ARRRGGHH! Be COOL!Dec 15, 2007

For all those parents of small children wondering which games you should pick up that would be fun for small kids while you're sneaking in your game time with Super Mario Galaxy, here's sort of kids version of Super Mario Galaxy. It's a kid-friendly game with a terrific universe that allows them to play, fly, drive, run...as a bee.
Most of the videogame adaptations of feature films have left us scratching our heads wondering why the creators of such wonderful films (in some cases) allowed such a poor game to be produced. Especially with the infinite possiblities of an interactive universe.
This game was a PLEASANT SURPRISE. It's a lot of fun! You travel into a really cute world picking up a car, driving, advancing into missions. You fly. In one level through raindrops. It's one of the few games that my 3-year old and 6-year old enjoy. They like the way the game looks--the characters, the world.
If you haven't seen the movie, I'd try the GAME FIRST. It underlines how cool it is to interact with a universe than to passively sit and watch something once. We do plan to see the movie--when it comes out on DVD soon. For now, this is a really fun ride.

Not for teens or adults unless you are a bee movie fan!Sep 23, 2008
By Gene Cloner This game is based on the Bee movie as the title indicates. You play a bee that works inside the hive to earn money and the main game happens outside the hive where you fly to different areas (park, someone's loft, office, restaurant, rainy streets, bee farm etc.) to fight enemies, pollinate flowers and collect stuff. To get different flight passes to reach these places, you need to earn honey drops by playing games (doing work inside the hive; e.g. cab driver, package delivery, honey collecting etc).
While the games and concept are very nice, sometimes creative and hilarious, the difficulty level won't challenge adults/teens. So you wont enjoy it unless you are a fan of the movie. However, the younger kids would love it! The difficulty level is quite forgiving and there are a wide variety of challeges and mini games that dont feel repetitive.
The sceneries are very pretty and detailed including the inside of restaurants / offices. Controls are quite intuitive and easy to use, both for flying (outside the hive) and walking around/driving (inside the hive). In some flying games, you just need to press the buttons or perform actions that appear on the screen! you don't use the actual flying controls. that's one boring part. I would have loved to fly around NY to explore a little bit!
Overall, a fun game for kids, boring for teens/adults!!

Not goodMar 03, 2011
By msdet I purchased this game for my 5 year daughter and she does not like it at all. It is difficult for her to understand the concept which makes it boring for her. My 12 year old likes it but the game is not made for younger kids.
It was okayDec 04, 2010
By Simpson Lover This game was not as good as the version for xbox 360. It was too short and I beat it in 3-4 hours. But I still liked it.
