1You Couldn't Trade This Game For A Sack Of Manure!Dec 19, 1999

Please, absolutely do not get this game. It is nearly impossible to catch a fish and/or land a fish. The folks at HotB have thrown a major dud out there on the market with this game. I would rate this as less than 1 star but the rating system doesn't go that low...

You will definately have more luck today if you would actually go fishing because, at least that way, you at least have a chance at catching a fish.

3Only for die-hard fishing fansDec 08, 1999

This game takes some time to get used to.It took nearly 4 hours before we finally got a fish, which makes it difficult to go back and play. The Blue Marlin section was more fun and it was easier to get a fish on, but the Bass section seemed to take forever before you got a single strike, not exciting or fun if you are not a die-hard fisherman.

5Realistic Fishing Game - The best fishing game yetFeb 10, 2000

The new Black Bass game is great! The lakes are realistic and the detail is incredible. Just like real fishing. Finding the fish, casting and reeling is just like being on the water. This game is a keeper!

I can't believe I'm reviewing a THIRD fishing game here at amazon (check back 2 and a half years ago to find the other reviews). Really, what can you say about a fishing game? REALLY? I have mixed feelings with Black Bass with Blue Marlin. One way of looking at it, you certainly catch a lot of fish just like in the original NES Black Bass, and Black Bass with Blue Marlin is certainly better than that junky and boring SUPER Black Bass on the Super NES (super poopy).

But Black Bass with Blue Marlin just doesn't provide as much entertainment (or, as much entertainment you can possibly GET out of a fishing game, which isn't much). Something's strange about this game. I like the options for all the ways you can catch a fish (and yes, I still stand by what I said 2 years ago when I said it's more fun to keep it simple by catching fish with JUST a pole, hook and worm).

Well, it's an okay game, so you decide if you think it's worth owning. You wouldn't want to buy this game NOW in the summer anyway. Wait until you can't fish anymore.
