5A Masterpiece Of HorrorOct 12, 2003
By Yuri Cunha "Juggalo"
You are Kain, a vampire. You were defeated two hundred years ago by Sarafan, your enemy. In that time, you were the lord of the land of Nosgoth. Two hundred years later, you awake. The world has changed and you no longer have power, but you still have allies. Now it's your task to kill the Sarafan for good.
- Graphics: The graphics aren't that great but there's nothing to complain about them. I mean, they're very clean and have no serious problems, the character's expressions are good... Believe me, if there's nothing to complain, then the graphics aren't bad. The enviroment is also very good, reminds me of London of 19th century or something...
- Sound: This game has the best voice acting ever, believe me. The voices are awesome and Kain's quotes makes him one of the best characters ever from a videogame. The soundtrack is also great, and the song changes when an enemy is close to you (reminds me of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell in this point).
- Fun: What makes the game fun is the fact that you play as Kain, a character that nearly every gamer (myself incluided) would like to be. Intelligent, wise, fearless. The puzzles are also easy to solve, so you don't really get pissed (I hate hard games) because you can't solve one.
- Educative: No, this game is not any educative, it's undoubtedly a Mature game. You kill helpless victims, there are lots of blood and violence. If your kids are easily impressed by violence, this is not your game.
Overall, this is one of the greatest tiles ever for your GameCube. A must-buy if you're into mature games. If you're not, well, stay away.
One more thing, a little hint for you all... This cheat is only avaliable on the GameCube version... Press Z, R, L, B, X, Y in the main menu and you can start the game with the Soul Reaver (very powerful sword) and with the ultimate clothes (that protect you from most wounds).

4Highly overlooked game. Violent, with lots of puzzles.Mar 30, 2003

Strangly, this game is overlooked. It continues the story of Kain, in a sequel to the old Playstation game, BLOOD OMEN. Graphics are very nice, and there is quite a bit of detail in all of the levels. A lot of the game, however, consists of puzzles. Too many of them have you pushing around crates to open up a path. However, the game is on the long side, so it will keep you busy for a while.

This game is a port from the PS2/XBOX original. If you already own it, this Gamecube version has nothing new, besides having a better controller. There is a new area, but it is hard to tell apart. As before, there is a small pause to load when you reach the second half of a level. It is not really annoying, though.

Overall, this game is very good. I highly recommend buying it.

4an excellent gameFeb 03, 2004
By Jean Brunet "element"
let me start off by saying that this is my first review, but i felt compelled to write one about this game in order to convey the exitement that i have for this game.first of all let me explain that this game is in my opinion not for kids.the reason for that is that it shows a lot of gore and violence, the hero is also not a role model by any means as he shows no mercy or empathy towards anyone or anything. That being said, this is a great game for anyone over 13 that likes that type of game.first off the story is very good in keeping with the original legacy of kain series exept i found this one more detailed and more exiting that the previous stuff.Second game play is awesome the controls are easy, the surroundings are beautiful and specific enough so that you always manage to find your way around. The cameras work well and the makers spent a lot of attention to details throughout the entire game wich makes it fun to look around wherever you are in the game wich i really liked. The premise in itself is simple you are kain and you've been brought back to life to save the world from the sarafan lord and his minions. You meet a bunch of diffrent characters throughout the game wich basically let you know what to do next.So your never left on your own not knowing what to do you always have a clear picture of what to do,yet you do it your way wich makes gameplay fun and challenging.Throughout your adventure you will have to basically kill everything that moves and suck their blood to survive and become more powerful. The story line gets better and better and your rivals get tougher and tougher wich kept me riveted to my seat, one thing about this game is that i never got bored and got frustrated only a couple of times(compared to most games). In closing i recommend this game strongly to anyone old enough to handle its violence and storyline.I also think that you cant get a better game for the money and new players will probably enjoy this game more than pro gamers as they have seen and done it all allready.thank you for reading and i hope that this review was helpful to you.

3Easy entertainmentOct 04, 2010

This game is not very challenging so if you are a hard core gamer who always wants a big challenge this game wouldn't be for you. If you are an older gamer who sometimes just wants something entertaining that won't make you run to the computer all the time looking at walkthroughs, then this game could be fun. It's nice for me to have an easy game every now and then, I can play for a half hour at night and actually get through levels. On some games I play scenes over and over and over until I beat whatever it is.

This game is also different for me in that you play an evil character. I've always played hero's and heroin's trying to right some wrong, or a superhero saving the innocent. Here, you are a vampire and you kill the innocent if you want to live and keep playing the game. The old ladies on the street and the dock workers are your "medkits" . It's rather odd for me, but you get used to it. I think from now on, though, I'll stick to fighting evil, instead of doing evil, in my video games.

Overall--this game is reasonably entertaining for a relaxed game player.

4Worst of the LOK games but still pretty goodMar 02, 2005
By Seth Romanov "Coma Black"
Now I haven't finished this game but I've gotten pretty far and I've found it fun but not as gripping as the other games were. The gore is excellent, battling isn't that hard but it can get annoying. This game is more hack and slash than the others with less puzzles. My biggest gripe is that the characters didn't interest me, and the fact that this scenario exists confuses me. If you don't know what I mean by that I mean that this game is supposed to take place in an alternate timeline that is a result of Kain and Raziels time traveling (full details can be found in the gamefaqs plot summary faq). This game has just been giving me a headache as without reading that summary it doesn't make sense. Oh another problem I had is that you don't get to travel all over Nosgoth, your confined to the city of Meridian.

It's a decent game but not on par with defiance or soul reaver. you should play all the other games first before this one though, granted I still haven't played the original Blood Omen.
