5Great Gaming ExperienceJul 26, 2011

This game has quickly become one of my favorite games of all time. I'd rank it as the second best comic or movie game I've ever played (just behind Arkham Asylum), and would say it is just a great, fun game overall, easily in my top ten favorites list.

The combat in this game is amazing. It takes the simple directional attack, dodge, and counter design used so well in Arkham Asylum, but includes fantastic focus moves, grapple moves, and special moves. And because Cap uses a shield, it also includes the ability to block and reflect gunfire as well. The combat is very fun and strategical, and when the player gets the hang of all the different aspects of it (including the timing) they really feel like an unstoppable super soldier--even when playing the very well done and challenging boss fights. The combat presentation is fantastic as well--not only are the animations smooth and the physics well designed, the game also implements enjoyable slow motion and close-ups to show off the hardest hitting moves.

The game has some fun timing based platforming as well, looks really nice both in terms of graphics and animations, and has an immersive presentation that includes well done cutscenes and boss encounters.

Also like Arkham Asylum, the game takes place in one large location over the course of a single day, and combined with the well done story and cutscenes, it keeps the game feeling like a story driven immersive whole.

There are several different enemy types from grunts to snipers to walking tanks, and even genetically modified soldiers with sic-fi powers (that I won't spoil here). Grunts come in several varieties as well, with different defences and weapons, and even the most heavily armored enemies have different models that require different tactics to take down.

And once again like Arkham Asylum, the game tells an original story separate from the movie that enhances the movie story, but also stands very well on its' own. The story includes several villains from both the movie and the comic, and has a very interesting overall plot that I found really enjoyable.

I wouldn't hesitate at all to buy this game again, and easily recommend it. Arkham Asylum is considered by many critics to be one of the best games ever, and this game compares very favorably to it. Arkham includes more stealth because that's Batman's style, while this game includes more charging in and attacking head on (because that's Captain America's style and because Cap has a shield). I absolutely love both games. We're getting a sequel to Arkham later this year, I'd love a sequel to this sometime as well.

3Surprisingly not badAug 05, 2011

Captain America: Super Soldier, is a simple and fun video game tie-in to the latest Marvel movie smash, and for what it's worth, it's a fun enough trip while it lasts. Playing as the Star-Spangled Avenger, you mow down hordes of Hydra agents and other assorted baddies while making your way to take on the Red Skull, and that's pretty much the whole game in a nutshell. There's nothing overly complicated and the gameplay does tend to get fairly boring after a while, but considering the fact that this is a very, very short game, this isn't as bad of a shortcoming as it should be. The graphics are pretty decent, as are the controls and overall feel of the game, which is really quite a pleasant surprise considering how bad Sega's Marvel movie games have been over the past few years. All in all, fan of the comic, movie, or both; Captain America: Super Soldier is worth checking out.

5Good game overallOct 30, 2011
By A. Spiller
I am playing Captain America and amazingly, it was fun. Although kind of short, I still enjoyed the action. Once you get really into the storyline of the game, which thankfully does not follow the movie, you will want to listen and hear everything that is said. If I can just get my last 4 accomplishments 1 more film reel, 1 more zola diary entry and all gold in challenge mode) I will be a very happy person. Finding everything after you finished the game is kind of hard.

5ChallengingSep 11, 2011

I did not see the movie but if this game is like the movie when it is released I will definitely have to watch it. This game lives up to the whole concept of Super Soldier. I like this Captain America, everything about his is from the whole Marvel Universe. His moves and techniques are just incredible to watch and apply. I still cannot put this game down and look forward everytime to playing it. The graphics and special effects are really good. Please purchase it, you will enjoy it.

4Best movie tie-in game from Sega!!!!!!Sep 09, 2011
By Paul A. Vincent
Let me say Captain America: Super Soldier is the best Marvel movie tie-in game Sega has ever made, period. This is by far better than previous games like the two Ironman(team behind the Ironman games was disbanded just too let you know) and Thor games. Captain America plays a lot like Batman Arkam Asylum(which is a good thing). The graphics are not bad for the this title (PS3 version has the best graphics). This is not a long game about 7 to 8 hours of gameplay. The soundtrack is very good. It helps add to the atmosphere. Too, bad Sega will not make a part 2. If more time was spent on this title Sega could have hit a homerun!!! If you are a Cap/Marvel fan get this game otherwise I would rent.
