Someone told me I needed to get a Clue...so I did.Dec 07, 2008

I got this game mainly for Clue. I like playing Clue but sometimes it's hard to get two other people to sit down with you to play the board game. But now I can enjoy a game on my NDS whenever I want. While I would mostly be playing this in single player mode, the game does have wireless multi-player capability. In single player mode, you can choose how many computer opponents you want to play against, from 2 to 5. It takes some time to get used to the game mechanics. I lost the first two games I played because I was concentrating more on the game controls than on solving the mystery. But anyway, if you're a big Clue fan, I would recommend this.
As for the other 3 games that you get on this cart, Mouse Trap, Perfection, and Aggravation, I consider them to be bonuses since I really only got it for Clue.
Out of the three, though, I like Perfection the most because it's the most interactive. What makes it even more challenging than the original Perfection is that both the spaces on the board and the pieces changes position with each game, so for example, the square shape won't always go in the upper left hand corner. The only downside is that you're limited to setting the timer only to 45, 50, 55, or 60 seconds.
I can't say much about Aggravation since I never played the board game before and wasn't really sure what was going on when I played it here on my NDS. Maybe I should try reading the instruction book?
Sadly, the fun of Mouse Trap doesn't carry over very well in this video game version. Part of the fun of playing the board game is moving your mouse around the board and actually building the mousetrap. But here, you basically just press a button to roll the die. That's pretty much it. The computer moves your piece for you and you basically just watch as the computer moves the mousetrap pieces into place. They could have at least let you turn the crank on the mousetrap using the touchscreen, but no the computer does that for you too. The graphics also are very low resolution making it difficult even just to watch the computer have all the fun. Plus, I can't help but to think the game is rigged. When playing against the computer players, it always seems like they always get the roll of the die they need to turn the crank, whereas when I roll the die, it always ends up putting my mouse under the trap. Bummer!
For me, this was worth getting just for the Clue game. It's great!

I've allways loved CLUE and with this game I can play as many times as I want, and on the go!!!
Also, when I was 8 or 9 years-old, my grandma gave the perfection board, I remember playing all day long, now I can play all day long again, and on the go!!!
My kids love this game also, so it's for grown-ups and for kids too...
I STRONGLY recomend it!!!!

I'm happy with this game, I just expected it to be less of a board game. But if you like playing CLUE, and Mouse Trap then this is the game for you. You can have more fun if you know other people that own a Nintendo DS so you can play against them.

Great Game But...Jan 06, 2009

My kids enjoyed this game briefly but I don't see them using it much after the first week. I was disappointed that they each have to have the game to play together. I got the impression that it would work with the DS's wireless like the Mario games do. It doesn't.

The game arrived in a very timely order. And my friend is enjoying to try to remember how to play the games. We are both senior citizens and had played all these games as either kids or with our kids. Thanks for a professional experience.
