5A great series.Oct 12, 2003

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and its spin-offs are some of the best story driven games to grace the consoles. Filled with character and powerful themes, these are the best vampire games on the playstation period.

This compliation gives you the first two games plus another EDIOS greatest hit Fighting Force which has nothing to do with the kain series. A good deal no matter how you look at it.

This is where the Legacy of Kain begins. This compilation has the Game that started it all;Blood Omen:Legacy of Kain, as well as its sequel, Legacy of Kain:Soul Reaver. These two games show where the great Legacy of Kain starts, as well as many plot points are. This compilation shows the adventures of fledgling Kain, as well as Raziel chasing down for revenge for Kain for throwing him into the abyss. There are not enough words on how good these two games are, and how important they are in the Legacy of Kain storyline.

I didn't give this compilation 5 stars because of the third game in the compilation, Fighting Force, is complete and utter garbage that isn't worth the cost of the CD it was put on.

The controls for Blood Omen and Soul Reaver are good for an old Playstation 1 game(yes, new gamers will be turned off by PS1 graphics, but Old School gamers can look past that).

Other than Fighting Force, this is a great compilation, and a must have if you don't own Blood Omen and Soul Reaver already.

Blood Omen is an older, top-down hack and slash reminiscent of the original Zelda games. Soul Reaver continues the story line of Kain after Blood Omen. Soul Reaver is also reminiscent of a Zelda-style hack and slash game. As each boss is defeated, a new ability is gained (Phasing through gates, the soul reaver weapon, climbing, swimming, etc.) that allows access to areas that were previously inaccessible. The story isn't too deep in Soul Reaver, but it begins a very long, complex, and engaging storyline that continues through Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance (for PS2). Blood Omen is fun, but very old and unimpressive. Even Soul Reaver is showing its age compared to PS2 and PS3 games. However, it is still a classic. I highly recommend it. I haven't even bothered to open Fighting Force because I bought this bundle for Blood Omen and Soul Reaver to complete my collection of the Legacy of Kain Series games.

First off fighting force is not even worth trying because it sucks. I played the 1st level and I am scared emotionally forever now. The real charmer here is Blood Omen. The game has really...long...load...times. But it is super fun and has a dark and compelling story. Soul Reaver is just ok. Its mostly a puzzle game and the combat is just mashing buttons and not exciting. It also has the honor of not being a finished game. There are actual sound files on the disk that are not used. Or so I read on the internet and everything on the internet is always true.
