Best Game EVER!!Aug 09, 2003
Now I have not Played Gallop Racer 2003. But Let me tell you this is an AMAZING GAME right here! I have had so much fun playing it. I have played it for hours on end. Really good graphics, The controls are not too complex. There are just many things as a jockey that you can do to effect your mount. This is a game for people who love horse racing. You do interact with your mounts in the race, you can help suggest races for your regular rides if you are able to be good enough to have a trainer ask you to be a regular rider. It is very realistic. Easy is not too easy and hard...well that says enough! It's HARD! The game is not over after you become a Grade 1 Jockey. It will keep going year after year if you want it too! It is an amazing game! If you like Horse Racing you will LOVE this game. It is funny how some horses are named very closely to real ones. Cat Thief in the game is Catch Thief. lol There are alot more. Very funny really. See if you can catch some more! Lemon Drop Kid = Lemon Syrup Kid haha. They say none of them match but it sure seems like they are close. Even the silks are close. Silver Charm = Silver Calm, he has similar green and yellow striped silks! lol Any way GREAT GAME! I will definately get G1 Jockey 4!!

G1 Jockey 3 is my favorite game!Sep 16, 2004
By StayC This game is excellent for anyone who enjoys racing or horses! It takes some patience but once you get into it your hooked. I started out on the easy level until I learned the trick of the trade. It's very realistic as far as the technical aspect of racing, trainers, horses, etc are concerned. I've read complaints that you don't get to breed and own your own horses but this game is about building a career as a jockey. It's very fun and I'm hoping Koei will come out with G1 Jockey 4.
Note: If you start out in easy mode try to get the horse Superb Stone he's the Seabiscuit of the game :)

As Real As You Can GetJul 14, 2003
I have recently bought both G1 Jockey 2003 and Gallop Racer 2003, and have found that I like the G1 Jockey 2003 much better than Gallop Racer. I am an avid horse racing fan, and even though Gallop Racer is a good game, this is the better game for people who watch more than just the Kentucky Derby every year. It takes the reality of how trainers interact with the jockies, and allows you to do workouts to get to know the horses.Comparisions to Gallop Racer: * Graphics are more realistic, and backgrounds won't make you dizzy (I've had problems with the GR Backgrounds) * You ride more than the six horses, and work with numerous trainers. * Access to 4000 horses, with oppertunities to ride any of them * You are acctually treated like a jockey, and experience what they go through when they win/lose And for those who do own Gallop Racer and get frustrated with the Easy mode not being so easy, the Easy mode in the game is really easy and I can't wait to try the others.

Not Worth the Money...Jul 07, 2004
This game is fairly realistic in most aspects, but focouses way to much on being a good jockey. They make it so no matter how bad of a horse you have, if you ride it the right way you win. It was hard to get used to the first few races but by the 5th race I was winning every race, no matter how bad the horse was. It was really lame. I was only half way through the year and was the #1 jockey and had over $1,000,000 in earnings, which was almost double than the person in second. All in all, very unrealistic. Another thing which I didn't like was the fact that you couldn't own and breed your own horses, thats the funnest part! I was very addicted to Gallop Racer for that very reason, I worked for months breeding and training my horses to make the best horse in the game, it was very enjoyable. G1 Jockey 3 has some nice graphics and is fairly realistic in most aspects, but not in the racing part (which is the most important in my opinion). Hope this helps!

By Brianna I am a major horse racing fan, and this game captures all the aspects of owning, racing, breeding, and riding than any other game i've ever owned or played.( you can almost feel the horse underneath you!!!)
