A big snooker player, but this game really shows how a virtual reality game should not be. Lousy graphics and slow an bad gameplay. Don't buy it. I wonder if the first version is better (because the price is higher..... I sure hope so for jimmy)

5best jimmy white game everMar 02, 2002

This game is awesome. The graphics are very solid and the sound track is pleasing to the ears. I liked the game so much I played it for hours and hours. It was hard to figure at first but after a few days of constant practice I was able to master the technique. This game is far more perplexing than the original Jimmy White's Cueball. I suggest you buy multiple copies of this at the low price of [money] in case it breaks on you because you do not want to be stuck without the game for more than 1 hour because it is so addictive.

1like playing with crooked sticksJan 13, 2002

I really wanted this game to work. It was very difficult to get the thing to work like I know pool shots work in the real world. The most basic straight and simple rail shots seem to go anywhere but into the pocket. The rudimentary pixel fracturing makes it very difficult to know where the stick is aimed. The division of controls thruout the game were adequate, as were the options necessary to supposedly control the cue ball. After many hours of trying to get just the basics I gave up in frustration. (secondarily the music selection is limited to a few constantly repeated looping themes that rapidly become quite annoying.) It's hard to believe, but even at ten dollars this game is not worth it, which is too bad, I really wanted it to work. The designers almost got it, but the mechanics of a pool table which are in reality somewhat complex seem just out of reach and beyond this games ability. Perhaps if they hadn't wasted power and space with a bunch of unnecessary add ons, like darts, checkers, and bad music with posh pool hall ambience. This game is like a Trabant done up in cheesy silver spray paint that is supposed to look like chrome.Sorry Jimmy, better luck next time.

1CRAPTASTICALLY BAD 2 OUT OF 10Apr 25, 2008

Jimmy White's Cue Ball 2 is a total disaster that will only put you through pain and suffering if you play this atrocious and execrable abomination. There is no fun, only garbage to be salvaged from this game.
WHAT THE GAME IS: You play pool, only there is no fun, and you will be in the utmost misery if you play because it is absolutely terrible.
GRAPHICS: This game looks nice for a Playstation game, too bad it lacks the fun of one of Playstation's many classics.
MUSIC: Horrible and completely boring, listen to your own music if you play this game because whoever composed this music is terrible at their job and at life.
GAMEPLAY: This is where the game falters most. It is nearly impossible to hit a ball into a damn hole! One particular incident I recall is when I had the cue ball lined up directly with another ball that was right at the edge of the hole and it didn't freaking go in! And yet, somehow magically your AI opponent can hit just about any ball into a hole. This will enrage you when you play this game, so please don't purchase it.
OVERALL: If I end up going Hell this will surely be one of the games waiting there for me, which is one of the reasons I intend on staying out of Hell. How Bam! Entertainment allowed Virgin Interactive to make this game is beyond me because there is no fun at all and the game feels pretty broken by most standards. If you don't wish to get a glimpse of Hell I recommend you stay away from this game.
