A four-disc RPG epic, The Legend of Dragoon is set in a time of swords, magic, and dragons. Ten thousand years prior, the Dragon War pitted Dragoons--humans with the power to control dragons--against Enslavers, magicians who sought to enslave the humans. Now Dart, a young warrior, is on a quest to find the demon that killed his parents. The Legend of Dragoon features prerendered, 3-D backgrounds and detailed, polygonal figures. Several nonplaying characters and many full-motion video scenes take you through the complex story. The game's turn-based battle engine allows you to increase the strength of an attack through repeated button taps and shows the percentage increase you've created. A timing feature in the battle modes allows you to add devastating combinations to your attacks. The Spirit Points you accumulate during your quest can be used to unlock a special power, known as the Dragon attack.

legend of dragoonMar 09, 2010 well this game has a very fun and unique battle system however it gets much harder to use the techs as your learn the higher level skills/the story is really good and has a great plot twist but is very slow getting anywhere for instance it has 4 disks and you find out the plost twist and the overall jist of the story at the end of disk 3.this game aslo has a very low exp rate which is kinda hard to level without eating up a massive amount of time.the voice acting is surprisingly great for a playstation game and for a game period.its aslo very straight threw gameplay so if you like a game with sidequests or hidden stuff this game might not be for you.
best ps game ever!Feb 18, 2010 Ok... so first off, if you have any of the PlayStation systems, you should definitely buy this game!
1)Gameplay: If you are a fan of rpg you will probably like this, if not, you still probably will. i really don't like rpg unless they have a really good story line (which this one does) but the fighting makes it really interactive with its addition. You don't just sit back and let the character do all the work. you actually have to help! its really sweet!
2)Graphics: ok.... so the graphics kinda suck... well its on the ps, what do ya expect? but i will say that they were really good graphics for the ps.
3)Music: so music a lot of the times is really important, the music on this game is great! however after some time, the fighting music does get old, and annoying. But after a while you'll forget about it.
4)Story Line: OMG!!!! the story line in amazing! like seriously, they could make a movie out of it! you will be addicted to this game and won't want to stop playing it, because you want to know what happens next!
overall, the game is sweet! if sony was really smart, they would remake this game for the ps3! it would be amazing!
Awesome Game!!!Feb 15, 2010 This game is very replayable first of all! That's the most important thing I look for in a game. Although PS1 games are from very long ago, this game has great music and graphics for its time, and most of all... it has an awesome storyline! It takes a little skill to master the dragoon moves, but once you do as well as the heroes' upgraded moves you'll find this game very fun to play. Just make sure you look at [...] to find all the Stardust locations. After playing this game once or twice, you'll find it a breeze but not too easy. If you're into RPGs, this game is a must have!!!

Brings back great memoriesFeb 14, 2010 The Legend of Dragoon was my 2nd JRPG game, the first being Final Fantasy 7 (which I never could finish because of the confusing in game blue screen items inventory, which kept me from getting past the first boss, lol). This was the second time I played it since 1999/2000. It brought back awesome memories of the first time playing it.
Pros: Unique character designs (during CG cut scenes), storyline (Divine Tree and all), gameplay (ex: attack additions, changing into dragoons, multiple dragoon magic and attacks), level designs (beautiful cities and towns), 55+ hours of gaming value, simple game hud inventory.
Cons: This game was made for the Playstation 1, so the in-game graphics are very dated. But when seeing the CG cut scenes, it still can still leave impressions.
If Sony ever came out with sequel(s) or prequel(s) using current graphics in the future, then I would definitely buy them.

When it came in the mail i was very excited to play it, but i couldn't play it on my ps2 because i don't have a ps1 memory card. Then i downloaded a psx emulator to play it, but it wasn't running that good. then i looked at my ps3(the newer model that cannot play ps1 or ps2 games. though i remember downloading something off the ps store that said will allow you ps3 to play some ps2 and ps1 games. so i popped it in, hoping for the best. screen goes black then the ps1 logo comes on. woot!
