5Good Strategy GameApr 13, 2007
By K. D. Perkins
This is a pretty fun strategy game, but requires dedication. The American colonies are subdivided into at least 60 sectors, each having different levels of support for or against the Revolution. You either play the British or the Americans. Either way, you will have to spend time raising troops, finding the money to arm them, training them, as well as raising support for the revolution in the sectors that you occupy. The game gives you the option of actually fighting the battles that you engage in, which gives you the opportunity to truly test your strategy skills. This is an addicting whole day game. Some cool things are: you get to decide where you want funds spent that the congress gives you for the war, including building navies and repaying money you borrowed during the game; votes of confidence take place, where congress can decide to replace you if you haven't raised support for the revolution through victories or parades; maps showing degrees of support for your side of the cause both in the colonies and in congress; defections during game play of disaffected army commanders; rewards in the form of promotions for army commanders and spontaneous support from local citizens in the form of arms and money. Graphics are not spectacular and the music can be mind drilling at times but this game is a classic for any strategy lover. I found it less confusing and more fun than other similar strategy games.

5Revolution!!Jan 22, 2002

This game is awesome. If you love history you'd like this game. If you don't you might learn to. This is another show of superiority by KOEI. No other software company is in competition with KOEI when it comes to strategy and simulation. I know the SuperNES is out of date, but graphics don't mean diddly to people who love strategy. This game offers plenty of Strategy, especially if you try to win with the British. My only complaint is that it's too easy to win playing as the Americans. The real war wasn't that easy.

5One of a kind gameJul 17, 2006
By Chris Gaylord "Chris"
This is a great game if you like history or strategy games. You don't need great graphics or music. I think I was able to play the game right out of the box, yet its still very challenging to play, especially on the British side.

5A hidden treat.Dec 26, 2001

The graphics? Obsolescent, mediocre.
The music? Lackluster, repetitive.
The Gameplay? OUTSTANDING.
Probably the only game ever made for a console, yet, on the Revolutionary War of 1775-1783. The subject matter is highly innovative. With so many recent games with superb graphics, but mindless storylines and no creative spirit, this comparitively old little game is a jewel. I hope it is put on the Game Boy Advance, in an updated form.
