5I'm learning football on this game.Aug 25, 2002
By P. Rownd
Last week I wouldn't have claimed to know very much about football. I won't insult all you veteran armchair quarterbacks by saying that I've figured the game out, either. But having spent one hour after another playing Madden NFL 2003 on the Gamecube, I must say that I'm quickly becoming a fan of football and am planning on sticking with the game through the 30-season "Franchise" mode. I having enjoyed using the "Football 101" mode (John Madden teaches the player every offensive play in the book) to hone my skills on the football field. Rather than jumping in and starting a losing season (because I stink at the game), I can practice, and earn tokens to buy Madden Cards in the meantime! The wealth of modes is indispensable to a guy like me who is new to the sport and who wants to build his skills. Basically, Madden 2003 is teaching me the game, and I am loving the experience. The reviewers before me hit all the other points. I just wanted to encourage you new players to learn the game with Madden.

4Solid GameJan 09, 2003
By Eric Gomez
I recently got a Gamecube for X-mas and I thought about what games I wanted to buy. The first one I got was Madden 2003. It's a great game. I love the graphics. The game play is smooth and there are many added bonuses that I didn't have when I used to play the old Madden games on the SNES. The Mini-Camp is cool for the fact that you can hone your skills. Not just passing, but tackling, and kicking and such. Loved that. What I think I like best of the bonus stuff is Football 101. The average football fan, I think, knows the game pretty well. But, for those who are casual fans Football 101 will teach you all you need to know. It shows you plays and how they are supposed to be run. Then it's your turn. A great primer for a solid game. I liked the fact that I was able to create a team also. We don't have a team to root for in Los Angeles, so I just created one, uniforms, stadium and logo... and fielded them. We're in first place in the NFC west. Solid game.

5Yet Another Madden ClassicSep 30, 2002
By Max Weinberg
Madden is the best football series ever. No, it's the best sports series ever. No, it's the best series ever.

Madden 2003 is great. Madden 2002 and Madden 2003 are pretty much the same except they made somethings better.

Music

The music is much better in this than 2002

Anouncing

Pat Summeral isn't that bad but Al Micheals is a great improvement.

Franchise

More detailed franchise mode

Graphics

There hasn't been that much of a change but some quarterbacks throw sidearm. Better tackles and more players breaking tackles. Plus they've finally allowed two players to smash the quarter/running back. Interceptions are really cool in this game because when you pick it off you are either running it by huge guys that can't run or fast guys that can't tackle. Another thing I had gotten frusterated with was Kick returns. It seemed like you would never be able to get a good return but in this game. You always have a shot at going the distance.

Ya gotta get it if your a madden man

I AM a fan of football games but this feels WAY too much like NCAA Football 2003 with a different title and cover art. It does have different modes, not too deep. I was struggling last week with a decision whether or not to get NHL 2004 PlayStation2. NHL 2004 happens to be MUCH better. It also doesn't have a good "addiction level" as I call it. Besides, the box now has a hobby, collecting dust. Commentary is quite annoying. Just the same thing again and again and again. Anyway, if looking for football, buy it. Otherwise, buy a better game like NHL 2004 or Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee or even Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

5Madden NFL 2003 IS IN THE HOUSEJul 11, 2004

Madden NFL 2003 probably has the best sound and graphics in all the gamecube games. You can make your own team, make their uniform, select their stadium, select how long you want the game to last, and much more.

Also, the teams have realistic stats and many gameplays to choose from. You can also design your own gameplays for all of the positions. Not to mension... you can also play tournements. Their also are 2-minute drills for throwing, reciving, intercepting, tackling, kicking, and much much more. You have to try to defeat as much of the levels as you can. The more you defeat, the more madden cards you get. (You can trade madden cards, sell them, and buy them. To buy them, you must do tasks which include throw a 30 yard pass, intercept a pass, recover a fumble ball. But since these are such easy tasks, you get less points then you would to complete do the folowing tasks. Run 60-80 yard in one play, or when your opponent kicks the ball you run the whole way without being tackled, complete 20 consecutive passes, and much more tougher stuff. Levels range from 1-5, 5 being the most difficult. This is probably the best sport game on gamecube.
