3Give it a chance...May 30, 2006
By BBombers26
Before I purchased the game initially I read some of the reviews on amazon.com. To be honest I really didn't care what anyone had to say because I knew that I would purchase it regardless. However, people made some important insights.

Cons- There are certain flaws in the gameplay. For example the commentators tend to say the wrong thing at times; things that aren't even close to the situation. Another con I would say is that the controls are pretty difficult. Things that were basic in the EA sports versions are made much more complicated in this game.

Pros- Despite the cons, I absolutely love this game. I'm not a gamer at all; I only buy sports games, and even then I'm pretty amature. After practicing for a bit, you start getting a hang of the controls. Pitching is a blast in my opinion. Once you understand that you need to place the cursor where you want it to break you can go nuts with it. Offensively the swing stick (once you get the hang of it) can be a lot of fun. Trying to guess the pitch also becomes fun as you get the hang of the game. Plus the graphics are insanely good. Each player's tendencies are almost spot on.

The reason I rated the game so high is because when you get a better hang of the controls the game allows you to control every aspect of the game. I disliked the game immensely when I first bought it, but after giving it a chance, I'm hooked. The more I play I learn new controls that make the gameplay so much fun. Just force yourself to give it a chance and get into each pitch, each at bat, and this is an amazingly fun game.

1WTF!!!Apr 12, 2006

Wow...This game is bad in so many ways, that I don't even know where to start. But I'll try:

First of all, the graphics are terrible. This 360 supports HD graphics and this is what we get??? MVP '05 for my regular Xbox looked better. Balls hit in the outfield during HR Derby look like huge snowballs.

The new swing-stick feature is just plain horrible.

Baserunning is insanely stupid. One you hit a ball in play you have to smash the button corresponding with the base to speed up your runner. If you don't, outfielders can easily take away would-be singles. This is ok if nobody's on base, but if someone is already on, then this doesn't work at all.

Fielding is awful. Nough said.

One good note...pitching has been very unpredictable, which I think is a good thing. One problem I had with MVP '05 is that you could consistantly hit the corners of the strike zone. Not so with this game, which makes it more realistic, and more difficult.

This is the only baseball game available for the 360. It's a shame because it is terrible. Save your money and buy Oblivion or Tomb Raider instead.

2WINNER: Worst Game of the YearApr 16, 2006
By R.M. Fernandez
PROS:

- Audio commentary by Jon Miller and Joe Morgan

CONS:

- Like all 2K games, the controls are so overly complex that you can't pickup and play the game. Even when you DO understand the controls, they're so awkward that it isn't even fun.

- There's no feel to pitching or hitting. A homerun feels the same as a single. Pitching is a disaster.

- Graphics look the same as a PS2 game from 4 years ago. Why does this game warrant a higher price tag???

- Game freezes.

- Messy interface, difficult to navigate.

====================

I can't imagine a worse baseball game. Couple this with the freeze issues many people are having, and this is without question one of the worst games for the 360.

1Worst Baseball Game EverApr 12, 2006
By David Marinez
I was really looking forward to this game since their older baseball games were fun and only cost 19.99. Well since they have the rights to the MLB games now, I figured it would be worth it to pay 59.99 for it. The biggest mistake ever. The graphics look like PS2 at best, the players move slow so it's impossible to make catches and big plays, the batting sucks and takes a long time getting used to. Another big complaint is the camera, the angles are horrible and make the game boring. DO NOT waste you money on this game. I'm just gonna have to wait till next year for a decent baseball game.

1what the !@$$Apr 12, 2006

I have been waiting 3 months for this game, what a joke. MLB the show for PSP blows this game away. All i kept hearing about was how good the graphics are going to be. None of the players look like real players, the hitting controls are a joke, and the fielding anamations are horrible. Please MLB, give back the money 2k sports gave you for the rights to make the game so real players like EA sports and other software companys can make a MLB game.
