Unlike his many 2-D platform-style shooting games of yore, Mega Man's first N64 game looks similar to the 3-D style of the newer <I>Zelda</I> games. In fact, this basically is a port of <I>Mega Man Legends</I> for the PSX.<p> The arcade blasting has been sprinkled with a little RPG drama. Deep in the game, there are huge areas to explore, items to discover, and people with whom to engage in somewhat childlike conversation. There's also a ton of handy-dandy weapons and moves to use against the game's bigger bosses.<p> Sadly, the graphics are way too PlayStation-like. The borderline-primitive level and character designs are extremely bland, and display little attempt to make use of the N64's graphics power. Also, there's an occasional problem with operating the camera to track enemies.<p> <I>Mega Man 64</I>'s somewhat interesting, if goofy, story line mitigates the game's lackluster look, but it won't satisfy gamers who are looking for deep plots or engaging characters. No, it's not the same Mega Man that many gamers know and love; but, for video game newbies and casual game fans, that's not such a bad thing. <I>--Mark Brooks</I><p> <B>Pros:</B> <ul> <li>Simple, mildly amusing gameplay <li>RPG-action elements offer new spin on old character </ul> <B>Cons:</B> <ul> <li>Substandard graphics <li>Occasional camera-control issues can hamper battles <li>Simple dialog seems written for 4-year-olds </ul>

Oldie but a GoodieNov 13, 2007 I thought I was purchasing a used game but to my surprise it was brand new and in the original box! The game plays excellent. The company I purchased the game from had shipped it very quickly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that is thinking about buying video games. They have very good prices and excellent service. I will definitely purchase from them again!

Crappiest Game EverJul 23, 2004 This game sucks. I really enjoyed the original Mega Man but this game has nothing incomin with the original. First of all the controls are terrible. U cant just turn u have to stop then turn. After awhile this gets very annoying. Second the graphics for this game are very poor. U would think that since Mega Man was gooing 3-D the graphics would be better, well your wrong. the graphics just plain suck. Last the game is really only a little fun for the first 5 minutes u play but after that its very boring. Overall this game is very bad and is not worth buying or even renting. TOTAL DISAPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!

This game is horrid!!!Feb 27, 2004 Don't get me wrong I usually love when a 2d game goes 3d but capcom made a mistake with this one. I love when mario and sonic went into 3d and I was really excited when i saw mega man had gone 3d so i bought it. I'm still hoping they will come out with another 3d mega man butnot like this one. I like rpgs but mega should have never come one it is completely dull. So save your money and don't buy even if you are a diehard mega man fan like me. PLease listen I'm saving you from making an incredible mistake. ~DON'T BUT THIS GAME!!!~

get this game! and I mean NOW!Jul 15, 2003 what makes me love this game? the cool music. the fun bosses. the arm weapons. the upgrades to jump and speed and the mega buster. the minigames. but most of all, the hard enemies. super mario 64, banjo-kazooie, donkey kong 64, the normal enemies are stupid and easy to beat. the megaman enemies are smart and touph. this game is GREAT and you can get it cheap now it's so old. yay!
