4A pretty fun game!!May 31, 2009
By AthenaRose "Staci"
My hubbie bought this for me since I was finished w/ Cooking mama dinner w/ friends. I have enjoyed playing it. One thing you should know you have to hold the DS like a book.(at first I was like is there a defect in this game but no this is just the way it played!!)

Here's a little bit about it: You are opening up your own boutique(Your own brand of course) You create your own looks by using different types of fabric. You unlock make-up, bags that you can also customize to match your outfits, you also unlock jewerly, scarves, & sunglasses. You get to pick from different hair colors and hair styles. Everytime you make 3-4 outfits using various things that are unlocked you move up a floor which unlocks a few more dresses, bags, etc. There are 8 floors.

Cons: More outfits should be unlocked not just 3-4 at the most at a time.
Should have the option of dresses not just tops & skirts.
THE MAIN CON THOUGH IS YOU CAN ONLY SAVE 10 DESIGNS AT A TIME WHICH REALLY SUCKS!! I SPEND SOME TIME GETTING EACH OF MY OUTFITS JUST RIGHT AND I CAN ONLY KEEP 10!! Should be maybe 15 I think that would be cool!
The coloring system takes some getting used too. The game is pretty short. I got it Fri. and I'm already on the 8th floor. The only good thing is you can make two brand names which is good.

All in all though this is a pretty fun game & I will be playing it for awhile but I recommend getting this from Target for 19.99!!

*What would make it cooler if you could have your outfits categorized in Summer, fall, winter, etc but alas it is not to be or maybe if you could name your models*

4Nintendo DS Fashion Studio : Paris CollectionAug 29, 2009
By Gaming Mama
I love this game! You are starting your own design house in Paris..... 1st : you get to choose a model from a variety of models. 2nd : You take an elevator to the 3rd floor where you choose your clothes and shoes (you decide on your colors and patterns for both). 3rd : You take the elevator to the second floor where you choose your accessories (only sunglasses to start with). Then you save. You can save up to 10 models at a time. After you design 4 looks.....the game allows you to take the elevator to the 4th floor where you can choose your models' hair and make-up. That is as far as I've gotten so far.

My daughter recently got the Barbie Fashion Show DS game....I think that THAT game is easier for younger girls to navigate through. Fashion studio's colors and pattern choices can be tricky at first. In the Barbie game....you can use your stylus to color/design whatever areas on your outfit that you want. Whereas on the Fashion Studio game.....your colors are directly applied onto preselected areas of your clothing templates. (Not sure if this changes as you advance thru the game....it would be NICE!)

An advantage of the Fashion Studio game....the graphics are really good. You can have a close up view of your model's face when you are choosing hair style & color, eye color, skin color, blush colors, eye make-up etc. I found it to be VERY much lacking this kind of detail in the Barbie game.

As I am only up to the 4th floor in the game....I haven't yet seen any "missions"....I am hoping that I'm just not there yet. In the Barbie game, you immediately get into the assignments....the first one being to design 3 cheer leading outfits for a high school fashion show (and you choose the stage, lighting and music for that.....as well as taking photos of the show for your portfolio.

I think that both these games are worth getting. As this review is supposed to be for Fashion Studio....it IS a good buy....and kids who don't like Barbie may prefer this more sophisticated type of design game. I spent 19.99 on it new at Best Buy since I couldn't find it for less on-line.

2Buy STYLE SAVVY, this game falls flat, not exciting at allMay 11, 2011
By California Love
This game has no direction for me other than to create a few outfits to go up a floor? What is the point of that? There are no customers to sell to, no where to take your fashions to, no one comes in for you to dress and sell your garments. It is pointless. I bought this game after reading reviews on here that said it was really fun, buy it. But for those who are on the fence...consider buying Style Savvy. You dont just sit and design and do nothing with your designs like this game. In fact, you go to a buying center and buy tons of clothes and lots of customers come in who you dress and once each day one of those designers from the center will ask you to collaborate with them on a style. Different concept yes, however there is GAME PLAY!!! I want missions, I want to have a purpose with my game. Not some person telling me that now I have 4 outfits I have unlocked a purse...whoop dee do. I dont reccommend this game to anyone. It is a complete waste of money, unless all you want to do is design a few outfits and look at them. Oh and did I mention like the other review...you can only save 10 of your designs? Yes, including shoes, skirts and any accessory you design gets included in that....also, point? There is no direction to this game that I can see. I thought designing sounded fun. But not when your handicapped with how many things you can save only to delete ones you have made. And then what do you do with the things you have made? Who looks at them? Again..no point...boring! Hope this helps someone because I sure wasted my money on this game.

4Great Game!May 15, 2011
By D. Bolton "mdbolton"
When you grow up, do you want to be a fashion designer? Since you're little and you still can't go to college , why not try the basic steps by playing My Fashion Studio Paris Collection. At the beginning ,you need to decide on a name for your studio that YOU choose! It can be love ,peace ,dance or whatever you want! When you get to your studio, your guide, Anna will tell you to click on a blue star. Then you will make an outfit with her. When you finish the practice with Anna, you can get started on your own. You get to click on a small blue model. Then a tall, skinny6 model will appear . You get to design an outfit for her, and if you go down to the 1st floor , you will see her or them in the front window! For her outfit, you pick WHATEVER you want!!!! You get to choose the color of her outfit ,you choose the style or, as I've said, you pick! This is one cool game don't you think? You can unlock new places of your studio like hair and make-up, swim suits and you do this until you get to the 8th floor, or the top!
I recommend this game to kids that love fashion and are 5+!
