An Amazing ClassicAug 16, 2009 For anyone who loves a good adventure RPG, this game is for you. It's got a great sense of comedy that keeps you going in the game. The gameplay is great and the controls are great. My only pet peeve is the camera control in the game, but very few games from the early N64 era had anything close to good camera control. Regardless of that this is still one of my favorite games.

My favorite N64 Game ever!Feb 12, 2006 I first played this when I was five and never found it in stores. Last year in May, I got my N64 out again and played most of my games. Then I remembered playing Mystical Ninja and couldn't stop thinking about it. I ordered it off here and finally got to play it again after seven years. The scenery is beautiful and the plot is creative like the towns. The music is also the best out of any game, other than the games with real songs because it's so capturing and you remember them forever and the towns they were from. I love this game overall, but the only problem about it is that I beat it in seven and a half hours. I'm grounded for grades so I can't play my games right now and I REALLY feel like playing Mystical Ninja.

Zelda meets bizarre, beautiful Japanese worldJan 05, 2006 No, the jokes don't translate that well to the American version. But so what? The graphics are lush, the soundtrack is laced with some genuinely gorgeous melodies, and--most importantly--THE GAME IS FUN!!! The controls are easy and make for smooth playing, plus the characters and worlds are imaginative and quite like no other.
If you're a fan of the adventure/RPG-style gameplay of Zelda, then you'll most certainly like this game's gameplay because it's exactly like Zelda's. What's unique about this game (apart from the comedically bizarre characters and dungeons) is that you command four characters, each of whom possesses special abilities and whom you switch between with a simple press of the down-C button.
Each area you explore alternates between the bizarre and the beautiful, the chaotic and the serene. However, there's no question that every world that makes up this game is rich with vibrant atmosphere and colors.
I enjoyed every minute of this game, and many of my friends also love it. It's challenging, but never frustrating or near-impossible. Sure, it's a little odd and it doesn't always translate well; but it's fun, and that's what counts.
