Awesome arcade-style take on the hunting genre!Nov 22, 2010
By Carpets I picked up this game because it looked a little more exotic than your usual deer hunting games out there. I haven't finished it yet, but so far we've had a blast!
The game starts you out by hunting the usual African big game. Then the action really picks up. Rhinos, elephants, leopards, lions, hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles, and who knows what else start charging at you from all directions. I like that there's a huge variety of big game, predators, birds, and even small ground-critters to hunt.
I also like that you're on rails so you go through levels, rather than just looking at them from far away. There's so many different types of environments that always keep things interesting -- grassy plains, jungles, swamps, waterfalls, deserts, even volcanoes just to name a few.
The game also has a nice balance between performance(trying to rack up headshots, longshots, and chain multipliers) with just surviving when you're in the middle of a lion attack or a stampede. There's even online leaderboards for competition and a trophy room, where you can see your trophies and achievements, and customize your equipment.
We found the difficulty level perfect -- just when you think things are about to get too hard, you end up unlocking a better gun or ability. Things also got pretty wild once we had four people playing it, the screen turned into a shooting gallery.
Seriously, they really packed a ton of stuff into this game, so it's a great value for the price. Would rate it ten stars if I could!

Ok, this game is very similar to the North American version, both are good games. So if you want the basic info on these games, read my North American review. If you want to know the differences to figure out which one to buy, this review is what you need to read. First of all, this game is far more exotic and has a few more areas to hunt than the North America game. Theres a wider variety of enviroments and animals. However, there are many more dangerous animals, which adds more difficulty. The big 5 of africa is in this game, all huntable. The arcade style shooter game works great- the animals normally travel in herds, and it makes it fun when predators show up. This game rivals dangerous hunts 2011, but probably wins. Theres no crappy storyline crammed in this game, merely shooting to get a high score by yourself, or with friends, or you can go against your friends in VS. mode. You start off hunting Wildebeest, but very soon many more animals are introduced. This game is highly simple, but in a good way. Graphics are just as good as North America. Dont let that decide what you want to buy- it depends on what animals you want to hunt and where. All the equipment in both games is sponsored, not some crappy fake stuff. Hope I helped!

Put's the rest to shame!Nov 23, 2010
By Jeffrey J. King This game is really fun! I played several other games including some of Cabela's, but there's no comparison... this game really hits the right combination of fun and realism. I loved nothing more than blasting away animals with my selection of weapons I unlocked.
The trophy room and armory lodge was really unique. I wish more games had 3d environments to browse your accomplishments!
Every level is unique with a wide variety of animals to hunt! I can't wait to play through the entire game, but so far I am having a blast! I'll see you on the leaderboards!

Arcade rail shooting at its finest!Nov 29, 2010
By Optimus Prime What would happen if you combined a Wii rail shooter like Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, a hunting game, and an exotic locale like Africa all into one game? You would probably get an explosion of arcade awesomeness like Remington Super Slam Hunting Africa. I picked this game up because I was tired of the boring sit and wait hunting games that we've seen so much of on the Wii. (Cabela's i'm looking at you.) Every year there seems to be at least one if not more new Cabela's hunting game with little change or improvement over the last. I've gotten tired of paying a premium price for a cheap game and a bundled plastic gun. I picked up this game because of its bargain price, and I gotta say, it is well worth it.
First off, the action in Super Slam Africa is non-stop. There isn't any sitting around and waiting for animals to appear, and then walking to a new location and waiting to do the same thing. The game is an arcade style rail shooter so all you have to do is aim and shoot. The game progresses through the level for you so you aren't just sitting in one spot, and there is always something on screen to shoot at. Shooting animals on its own in a game isn't that fun but Super Slam Africa really gets you to want to replay previous levels and increase your score. Sometimes you'll see an animal you didn't really notice before. As you progress you unlock cooler guns, scopes, glasses, gloves, etc that all give you an added bonus to do better than you did before. If you get a high score you can submit it to an online leader board and see how your score fares against the rest of the world. Its fun to use a gun you earned in a late level back on earlier stages to see how much better you can do. There are a lot of gun options too, and you always have two guns at once. You start out with a rifle and handgun but can unlock better rifles, shotguns, handguns and even a couple sweet semi-automatics. Watching the shell casings fly in slow motion especially with a shotgun is really cool. The Tiger striped desert eagle is also a cool gun in the game. Using the right gun, chain bonuses, bonus coins, and slowing down time at the right moment all seem to make a big difference in getting the best score. It really makes the levels a lot of fun to replay.
Speaking of the levels, there are a lot and they are all pretty cool. You start out in an African plains area, but then later there are rainforests, deserts, mountains and more. One level I was riding a jeep while shooting Impala which was pretty sweet. Another stage was at night and raining with thunder, lighting, and fog which was amazingly cool. There are also a lot of different animals to shoot in each stage. You start out shooting just Wildebeest but they quickly start throwing other animals at you, including predators like Crocodiles, Rhinos, and Leopards. There are also elephants, meerkats, hares, geese, vultures, impala, lions, and a lot more I can't even think of right now. There is just a lot of variety and sometimes they do some cool things like stampede toward you. Sometimes the predators chase the other animals which is cool because it's like they are hunting at the same time as you.
Remington Super Slam Hunting Africa is a fun arcade style rail shooter. Up to 4 people can play the entire game at the same time which is great if you want to play with your kids or friends. Its rated Teen because sometimes there is blood when the animals attack you but it isn't overly gory or gratuitous. Overall this is an awesome game for a great price!

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!Jan 07, 2011
By Giovanna McKnight I don't normally write reviews unless I am truely impressed by a product. This game is so much fun. My family doesn't have any prefernce when it comes to shooting or hunting games. This is our first. My daughter initially wanted a Cabela hunting game for Christmas but after watching the video, I figured it was too involved and picked up this instead, not to mention she could get 2 games for the price of the Cabela. I am so happy with my decision. My family and I have had a lot of fun playing this game together. We all take turns on single player mode because the co-op mode, although fun, does not count toward clearing the board and getting to the next level. This has not taken away from the fun of the game at all. We coach each other along shouting, "Reload!" "Watch out for this!" "Watch out for that!." Great family time. Incidentally, my husband just yesterday picked up one of the Cabela games because this Remington game has peaked our interest in hunting games. Well, we loaded the Cabela game and none of us could even figure out out how to find any animals to shoot. That game is for the more advanced gamer. Remington is just pure fun. My husband is happy to have the orange Cabela shotgun, but other than that, we will stick with the rail games and Remington is at the top of the list.
