Is a review needed? I doubt it.May 12, 2000
(I'm writing this because someone has to.) If you own a Dreamcast you need a few memory cards. I have a couple and there are no flaws that I see. I encourage people to buy the Sega brand due to reliability. If it isn't licensed by Sega it probably isn't any good. The color aspect of the memory units serve a dual purpose. Yes, we all like pretty colors to stare at! But, they also aid in remembering which card has which game saved on it. So I recommend a few cards, and multi-color may help in storing them when running through your game library. Trust me, there is no gaming experience without the memory cards.

Have a Dreamcast? You HAVE to have thisNov 21, 2000
By N. Johns Basicly, you need a memory card to save your games! This is the Sega brand memory card so it is the most reliable, compaired to the Nyko for example. But, like others have said, they really are too small. They hold quite a bit but if you have sports games (NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB/2k,2k1), it will take the entire card. The larger 4x memory card from Sega isn't coming until next year, so we are pretty much stuck until then. I would also suggest getting multiple colors as it is then easier to remember what games are on what card just by looking at the color...and with all of the amazing games out (Quake 3, NFL/NBA 2k1, Jet Grind Radio, Tony Hawk 2, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi...) your going to need all the memory you can get!

This is UNDOUBTEDLY the greatest memory card ever invented for ANY system. I just wonder why they didnt make a visual memory card for any other systems...anyway, this why i like it: 1.)You can display memory stored on the card with the lcd screen. 2.)You can download characters from an rpg game and train them in the car, or anywhere. 3.)If you get 'sonic adventure' or 'namco museum',you can play mini games on the memory card - fun :) 4.)It can store up to 200 blocks of memory 5.)It can display the time and date, and has a background with a fish, bird, or a dog going across the screen 6.)While playing sports games, like nfl 2k1 or nfl 2k2, you can use the visual memory unit to choose a play, without your opponent seeing what play your choosing. 7.)You can hook it to another visual memory unit and play head to head or copy data from one to the other 8.)The batteries last a pretty long time- a little longer than a game boy's batteries 9.)It has a hook on the bottom, which you can attach a string to 10.)It comes with cap, which can be used to protect the two plugs on the top

Sega VMU is the most advanced memory card for any systemApr 21, 2002
By ffootballguru27 The Sega VMU is simply amazing. It is not just a memory card, but it also shows the last time you used your game, a clock and games that you can download of Sega Net. It also has a great LCD screen which you can use to choose your plays in football games so your friends don't cheat. The only problem is the battery power is weak and it the VMU only holds 200 blocks which is just enough to save one Sega Sports 2K2. The Sega VMU is still a great deal ...

Dreamcast Virtual Memory UnitOct 02, 2000
By Adam Edith This is a good product because it not only saves things, you can edit them and use it for other things. But, it only holds a little amount of memory(not too little). I think it is too expensive because if you want to save another thing in a game like NFL2K1, you must pay [more $]. But this is much better than the Nyko one even though Nyko has more memory space! Nyko is way too confusing and dosn't always work. Just buy stuff from Sega because we know it is a good company.
