4Fun game!Apr 14, 2010
"Sonic Heroes" is a pretty good game with multiple stories to follow with just a few flaws. There are four different stories, so I am going to break each of them down before going into the other aspects of the game.

STORY-

Team Sonic:Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails have received a note from Dr. Eggman saying that he is about to take over the world, so they set out to stop him. This team is focused more on speed.

Team Dark:Rouge, Shadow, and Omega are out to destroy Dr. Eggman, for he imprisoned Shadow and Omega and left them there, not intending to come back. Shadow has amnesia in this game, so part of it is focused on him recovering from that, as well. This is a little bit more violent and teen-focused story, and it has a lot more enemies to defeat than in the other team battles.

Team Rose:Amy, Cream, and Big are the cutest team around, and that's a great thing for younger players and for female gamers. Their missions are a bit shorter and easier, and they have a very "cute" style of defeating enemies. Their main goal is to find Sonic, Froggy, and Chocola.

Team Chaotix:Vector, Espio, and Charmy may be newer characters, but they have really unique levels. They run a detective agency, and they have received a mysterious business proposition that requires them to complete missions that aren't about getting to the finish line, as the other team's missions are. Their missions have an adventure feel to them as they might have to find hidden objects, or get a certain amount of coins.

GAMEPLAY-The game is composed of various stages which usually require the teams to get to the finish line or defeat an enemy (with the exception of Team Chaotix). Along the way, all teams can collect coins and other items to help them. There are save points along the way that allow teams to come back to them if they ever die. There are also level-ups that let the teams abilities grow. Each team is made of three components:a speed character, a power character, and a fly character. Each of them has special abilities unique to them. Also along the way are monsters and robots that you can either run past or defeat. However, if they hit you, you lost all coins, and if they hit when you have no coins, you die. As you are going along, you will build up your "Team Blast" meter. When filled, the team combines to make a powerful attack sure to stop monsters in their tracks (and probably blow them up, too!).

GRAPHICS-The graphics are on the most part good, but occasionally, you would see the ocean or forest and think that it just looked bad. But, mostly, the graphics are very nice and pleasant to watch. Sometimes, however, the camera would swing out of focus forcing the player to stop for a second or two.

SOUND-The voice acting is pretty good in the game, and so are the background sounds. But what really shines is the music. The music is upbeat and nicely done.

FUN-The game really is fun for all. If you want to blow up monsters, have a casual fighting game, or have a unique adventure game, this game has it to offer to you.

LENGTH-It will take a while to complete all stories, and once you do, a new story unlocks. Also, there are side quests to so such as collecting all chaos emeralds or solving alternate missions on the same levels. Also, if you get all A's on all levels, I think something else unlocks, but I've never done that, so I'm not sure. But just the fact that there are four stories to complete, makes the game last a while!

All in all, this is a really fun game, and it is great for all to play. Sometimes the camera would get a little funky, but it wasn't that bad. Also, all of the bonus missions make this game last a long time, and the different stories add to the replay value. A great addition to the sonic series!

5Best sonic game I have played so far!!!!Jan 22, 2009
Best sonic game I've had for my gamecube! The 2 player mode will probabably a 4 and a half star but the story mode I would rate, if it was possible, it a 12-star game!! There are hundreds of levels which you could play over and over with different teams(There are 4 teams)so you will never get bored and always probably have something to beat.

4another underated sonic game to add to the pileNov 11, 2008
sonic heroes is a nice game to add to your collection. the only reason i feel it's underated, is because it's sonic first true run to the new systems. sonic fans didn't know how exactly to handle it, and began talking smack to it, ingnoring all this game has to offer the average gamer. don't get me wrong, the games not flawless. the controls can be frustrating at times. it's not a problem running, but in the more complex levels and the boss battles, it'll where you nerves. the camera is not the best sonic seen, but it's not the worst. overall, the game is fun. weather you're a sonic fan or not, you'll enjoy this game.

5Awesome! 3 Character Gameplay!May 23, 2008
I think that so far, this is my 2nd favorite Sonic game that I've played so far. The levels are loads of fun and full of cool new 3 character action. Each of the 4 teams has a speed, flying and power character, each with it's own ability. You use each of those abilities to progress in the game. At first, I must admit, it can be confusing and frustrating trying to figure out when and where to use each character, but as time goes on, you become acustomed to it and much it's easier to manuever. I feel one downside is that each team goes through the exact same levels. But with each team having its own difficulty level, it changes a few things that you'll have to figure out. But a great game and recommened to all.
