Fun, but not what you're expectingMay 21, 2003
By PSOne Soldier If you are looking for another game in the great Spec Ops series which includes Ranger Elite, Covert Assault and Stealth Patrol, this isn't it. This game is nothing like the others. It's a pretty fun game, though. The problem is that it's too easy. Also, there is one level which has zero challenge, takes forever and is extremely boring. There aren't very many weapons to choose from, either. The game has 10 levels (plus the training mission) so is a little on the short side. The gameplay is like something off of Super Nintendo: a overhead perspective, arcade-style game. Overall, this game is pretty good.

This game sucks, don't buy it!!!Nov 17, 2002
In comparion to the earlier "Spec Ops" games of the series like "Steath Patrol" is this game absolutley sh**. The other games also had crappy graphics but "Airborne Commando" is the worst. The graphics is just like in my old Commodore 64 days and the gameplay... The earlier games had at least a so called realistic graphic and game features, this one now looks like "Mario in War-Land"!!! I spent nights with my buddie playing "Stealth Patrol", because the two player feature was a great thing and in "Airborne Commando" is it totally missing. For all the gamers out there, when you think "Airborne Commando" could be a better version of "Spec Ops" (newer, better graphics, better gameplay), like I did... don't be disappointed, like I'm now, don't buy it. This game sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spec. Ops. Airborne CommandoNov 10, 2002
By E. Miller This game looked promising. Its down fall is your missions documentation is so overly simplistic. You may find yourself on the second mission wondering what to do next.It is this factor alone that prevents this game from being a classic. Not being allowed to progress can be stressfull especially after battling the same evil thugs. Adjustment of violence is good because over time the affects of eliminating the enemys of this grand country begins to sink in and you feel sick. I am going to store this game up for a bit and wait for some decent codes. Not being a violent game lover myself I don't care for this game overall.
Worst game in the spec ops seriesJan 01, 2011
By chad All the other spec ops games are amazing. They are challenging and fun, but this game was terrible. It is nothing like the others. It is extremely easy and really boring. You dont even have to do anything but walk around pressing the shoot button! Do not buy this game.
Airborne Ranger ReduxJul 10, 2006
By M. Pavone If you played Microprose's Airborne Ranger on your C64 or 386 back in the day, this game will seem very familliar. It is basically a contemporary version of that game. The game is simple, with a few frustrating parts, I had a TERRIBLE time learning how to disable mines. A little patience paid off though and the game is quite fun. Don't expect this one to be anything like the other Spec Ops games. If you want some fun action, check it out, especially if you're an Airborne Ranger veteran.
