the best $15 I've spent on a gameJan 11, 2010 I bought this game about a year or two after it was first put out, and at this point it had been replaced by newer versions, so it could be had for cheap. I didn't open it for a few months, getting bored with some of the glitzier titles I had bought for my PS3. Since opening Tiger Woods 07, though, I've consistently played it and enjoyed it. Easy to learn, tough to master, it has just the right level of difficulty and replayability for a game of its type. I don't even watch golf, let alone play it, but since playing this game I've caught a few minutes here and there on television and I can actually appreciate it. There is no need to buy a newer, more expensive copy of Tiger Woods than this, if you own a PS3.
Amazing graphics and customization in Game Face, easy to learn controls, lots of modes to keep you busy, but some bugs.May 13, 2009 The overall graphics in this game are amazing. It really shines in the Game Face mode where you can create just about any type of person you want. Gameplay graphics are also great, my favorite is the water. The reflections looks amazing, especially on an HD TV.
Gameplay is similar to Tiger Woods 06, with a few tweaks. The putting controls are a little easier. They took out the Gamebreaker, which sucks. That was a fun feature.
The available game modes will keep you busy. New is the Tiger Challenge, and golfer training. Both of which improve your golfer's skills. There's the usual PGA Tour matches, and all the multiplayer modes. The online play is also fun, with many stats to track your progress. Online gameplay is lag free, and easy to use.
My beefs with the game are mainly in the polish department. There are carryover glitches from 06. Namely the announcers stating you've "finished one under for round" after sinking a bogey on hole 1... 06 had the same glitch. Also, your shot off the tee sounds like a shotgun, very strange. The audience is also much louder than all other sound effects. Not balanced. The music is terrible this year. 06 had some great artists (Thievary Corporation!), but 07 is pretty weak. Also, EA cut the Pro Shop selections way down. There's probably 25% of what was available in 06. They also cut the number of courses, but that doesn't bother me much. There's still enough to keep busy, and the course renderings in HD are incredible.
Overall, the game is an amazing step up in graphics and takes advantage of the PS3's capabilities. But it seems like it was rushed to market, and those bugs keep it from being an excellent game.
Little control over swingMay 12, 2009 Just ok, but not absolutely dissappointed; kind of a nostalgic feel.
Good profile build feature, though time consuming.
Great to relieve or give stressOct 03, 2008 If you are a gulf fan, you may not like this game. If you hate gulf you will hate this game, but the fact that you can create a character in this game that looks almost exactly like you in real life is just too good to pass up. That's what first got me interesed in Tiger Woods 07, I didn't even understand the basics of gulf, but I knew I liked to make a character and with the customizer you can do almost anything. I made a person that looked exactly like me.
Now don't get mad at the game because you didn't do good on your first couple of tournaments and vs matches against some of gulf's big names (and a few made up characters that are just funny), just try and enjoy the game for what it is. Swinging a club at a ball and trying to hit the spectators, always fun!
I kid, but if you play multiplayer, you can improve your skill and earn money to improve your character's performance with specialized gear made to boost your person to the max.
Overall: I like this game and recommend it to anyone.
The Tiger woods PGA Tour 07Mar 28, 2008 It is a good game but could be a bit easyer on the swinging part of the game and could be a bit bettar grafics.
