Ghost Recon Predator is a game with an incoherent plot, bad graphics, and dose nothing for me to continue playing the Ghost Recon Series.
Mitchell, the hero from the first two Advanced War Fighter (ha, how's that for a euphuism) is now the boss of the Ghost and you control a three member squad of soldiers that you can swap around. Your three classes are scout (basic infantry with whatever assault rifle), autorifleman (machine gunner) and marksman (sniper). The Machine gunner being the worst class of soldiers because he couldn't hit the broad side of barn at point blank range.
The AI in the game is laughable, the enemy AI in Wolfenstien 3D and Doom is more competent, however your allies' AI is...well...an octopus and a piece of cold toast would make better partners.
The controls are sluggish, which is puzzling and frustrating, other third person shooters like the Resistance PSP game and the expansions to Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City have much smoother controls despite the lack of a second control stick and two less buttons.
The plot is nonsensical. Starting out as Mitchell explaining to his team that a ship of American mineral hunters off the cost of Sir Lanka were massacre for reason that is never explained, it's mentioned in the open cinematic and the training level and then is completely dropped and a confusing civil war is brought up between the "Activist" and the "Loyalist" two groups that have no difference. Aside from the avenging the deaths of American industrialist why the hell else would we be in Sir Lanka?

The Good: It's a portable Ghost Recon
The Bad: No story, terrible graphics, terrible controls, poor level design, dumb AI, just everything else
Ghost Recon has always been a great game, and Advanced Warfighter 2 was pretty decent on the PSP, but Predator is a complete disaster. To start the controls are simply horrendous. Games like Syphon Filter and other third person shooters have perfected controls on the PSP so why not just borrow from them? The thing that breaks the game is the fact that you have to press X to go into aiming mode then press X again to walk. So this makes the game a run and gun shooter since it gets so frustrating you just hold L down to strafe and shoot your way through. Even using the cover system sucks, and it just feels like a crappy hack job of Advanced Warfighter.
The enemies are as dumb as dirt, and the mission layout, along with the levels, just plain suck. The problem mainly lies into the fact that the game is like a cardboard cut out of other Recon games even visually. Buildings, fences, bushes all look like there were copied and pasted right into the game. The characters mouths don't move when they talk, the animations only consist of a few frames, and it just feels like a low-budget first generation PSP game.
All the Warfighter elements are here like the diamond HUD thing, the blurring of the screen when someone's shooting, customizing load outs, but it just all feels half-baked and this just doesn't do Ghost Recon justice. Yes, there's co-op, but who would you drag into this horrendous game? The game isn't worth a play through unless you really need to play every Ghost game ever made, but there are better ones out there.

By Sumant Chaudhari I got this game at best buy as part of a buy 2 get 1 free offer. and let me tell you it looked very cool. so I decided to pick it up. The game's presentation is traditional Tom clancy so no problems with that. It was the controls I have a problem with. The aiming controls are very frustrating as you have to press x to switch between aiming and moving. Therefore you cannot move and still shoot accurately at the same time. But the rest of the game is decent and despite all its problems, I found myself enjoying it. It has some bugs and annoyances but still is an okay game.
