2A budget game with a full price nameNov 29, 2010
By Matthew Erwin
After playing through Ghost Recon, I tend to think the IGN review of the game is a little unfair. It isn't the worst game ever made, or even the worst game of recent memory. What is particular insulting though is that with Goldeneye, Epic Mickey and DK Returns all on the Christmas season list, this budget on rails shooter thinks it can cash in on its name to steal your 50 bucks.

The story, as is often the case with Clancy games, is near future garbage. "Ultra-nationalists" have reinstituted the USSR and then invaded Norway of all places. Your team of two (either you and com, or you and friend) are charged with killing thousands of bad guys with your unlimited bullets. The end.

Gameplay itself is plenty interesting and amusing in small doses, but it really isn't much you haven't seen before. Your guy moves to cover with his partner and you press Z to peek out and then B to unleash your bullets. Yes, it is Time Crisis, except in the third person. Sadly for our heroes, the enemies are made of strong stuff; 10 shots to take down a single unarmored enemy? Not uncommon.

The main thing that distinguishes this game is the ability to move from cover to cover. If another cover is available, you can point at a chevron on the screen and press A to move to it. While moving you can continue to shoot or you can shake the remote to slide into cover. Certain marked covers will also give you a bullet time capability or a health pack. That's pretty much the whole game. Cover, Cover kill.

You also have your predictable on rails sections when you control a mounted machine gun be it a turret or a vehicle mounted gun. These play like every other one of these section in every game made since Medal of Honor.

On the original Playstation.

Another annoying thing is your incredibly stupid partner. If he dies, the mission is over. He will step out to shoot as grenades land. Sigh. Also, you are responsible for giving both yourself and him health packs as needed, because he doesn't know when he has been shot with a machine gun.

This is all not to say it isn't fun. It is at points and can be in small bursts. But this is not a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon, it is a lightgun game. And just a mediocre lightgun game at that. It isn't as bad as target terror, but the Resident Evil or even Ghost Squad games are all more fun. If you catch a deal, go for it, if not, save your cash.

5Great Fun, Fast and furious. dont listen to criticsNov 19, 2010
By Manuel Delgado
Great game, very innovative for a rail shooter. Its a heck of alot more fun than dead space extraction. Even thought the graphics aren't the best on the wii, they are good. Anyone can pick up and play. Not too short not too long just right for a shooter. I dont like the stealth missions though, I just want to shoot everything!! Great fun and I really enjoyed it.

5Good on-rail shooterNov 19, 2010
By Derek Vazquez "DaFynestRican"
As long as you know it's a Ghost Recon game in title only, you'll have a great time with this exclusive on-rails shooter. The graphics are pretty good, there's two player co-op, and it's great for quick bouts of arcade style shooter action. I had a great time with Ghost Recon.

5Lots of fun while sharpening Team Work skillsApr 12, 2011
By NYC
Oh boy! This was the most problem solving and situational decision making we've done in years.
It was so much fun that we logged over 100 hours on the game and didn't even realized it.(Not bad for $30.00)
I became the heavy artillery expert while he HAD to stick to sniper-riffles and shotguns (I decided that)
I played by myself for a little while and it wasn't as much fun.
Bring out the chips and salsa, get involved, devise a strategy and you'll have a blast.

5GREAT 2P GAME!Dec 31, 2010
By Nixon V.
The IGN Wii review is totally wrong.

This is game rocks. It's a unique, innovative twist on rails shooter. The game combines Time Crisis, Metal Gear Solid, and Gears of War. It even has "bullet time" where you can slow down time similar to Call of Duty.

The game is NOT easy. It's starts out simple, but progressively gets more difficult. I spent 30 min. (on easy) just trying to pass one of the Silent Stealth corners, not the level, just pass the enemies. This reminded me of Metal Gear because you have to find out how to shoot the enemies in the right pattern.

It has different levels for campaign and arcade. Different weapons- Bazooka, M50, pistol, MP5 + more. It's all on on-rails (which means you can't control movement) but, it's just as fun when you're blasting away from a tank or from a droid robot. To anyone who complains about on-rails --> That's what the genre is! Not everyone likes FPS.

The graphics are good for a Wii game and I vary rarely encountered any frame stutter. The game designer did a great job balancing the action, strategy, and skill required to pass all the levels. I'm a 30 yo. electrical engineer and I had fun playing this game with my 10 yo nephew.

I was very hesitant on getting it because of the IGN review, but this game is pretty good. I'm sure if there was an HD equivalent on-rails shooter then all the XBOX, PS3 heads would be talking about how fun the game is.

The game is Wii Zapper compatible.
