Ok. not bad-unless a fanatic don't buyOct 11, 2000
Virtua Athlete is a fun game, but if I had a choice to buy it again, I would have said no. Graphics are pretty good, but not fantastic. I would only buy this if I were a real fanatic about track, which I'm not. If you really like this sport, a good buy, otherwise, don't. Get Soul Calibur instead.
Not Bad, Give Sega CreditAug 11, 2001
After playing Virtua Athlete 2000 I was overall impressed with the game. The graphics for the game were top-notch graphics. The stadium-like feel with the commentrey and affulent body movements complemented the great graphics for a realistic, nice apperance. Gameplay, yet, is not as nice as the graphics. It is rather limited with only 7 events. Events are also a little tough to do well in. The create a player mode and online rankings are a plus. Even though the game isn't first-class work, it deserves a spin. I give the Sega Company credit for trying to create a good track &field where most are just pieces of junk.
Virtua Athlete is Virtua Perfect for the GenreFeb 10, 2001
By Ha Kung Wong The setup and presentation is very well done. Broadcast quality and excellant overhead shots of the grounds give you a real feel for the games. You can pick up and play immediately with the quick tutorial before each event, and most events are very simple (think Track and Field for the Nintendo). If only I had a pad that could work with this game like the Nintendo... The only problem is the limited number of events.
