A top five game for the N64!Nov 22, 1999
I just recently ordered this game. Now I have no life because I keep wanting to play this awesome game! The graphics are excellent. The gameplay is outstanding. It's in my top five games for the N64. Right up there with GoldenEye.

It's a cross of Metal Gear, Syphon Filter and Mission:Imp.Nov 16, 1999
If you're a fan of Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, GoldenEye 007, or Mission Impossible you'll love this game. This game has an excellent multiplayer, an even better story with one of the best plots ever and is plain out fun. If you buy one shooter this year by WinBack.

A few bugs but definatly worth it.Nov 29, 1999
I played this game for 3 days straight and couldn't get enough. It was kinda quirky at first and getting used to the controls (especially the camera controls) takes some getting used to, but if your looking for a good action game that isn't tomb raider(tm) then try this. Someone out there finally used the N64 for something good. It has a nice little story combined with a new way to control a character. It is a really good game if you ever wanted to step in the shoes of a covert ops character and sneak around and take out the bad guys one at a time. No huge guns that can kill a small army with one hit just one guy with his very small arsenal of weapons. You can even get a bonus for only using your pistol. I would definatle pick this up for those people that love thier Bond movies and had fun with Metal Gear Solid(tm).

Watch out Goldeneye, you've got a good rival.Feb 14, 2000
This game is the best spy game in a long time. In Goldeneye, the enemies just stand there and shoot at you hoping to hit you. Not in Winback. The Terrorists will wait for you to show your head and then blow you away. And, Goldeneye's dudes will shoot at you if they see you or not. Winback's will wait until they see you. Winback: Covert Operations offers an exellent training program to teach you all you need to know how to do in the game. The "Crying Lyons"(the terrorists) show some artificial intellegence. Winback's multiplayer mode isn't as great, but offers more ways to challenge one another. Overall, if you were to buy Winback or Goldeneye, go for Winback. Goldeneye is horrible compared to Winback.

READ MY REVIEW IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH ABOUT WINBACK!Oct 16, 2000
By Nathan This game is o.k. Take my word for it, that's all it is, o.k.! Well I didn't want to give it a two or three, because it does have goodpoints, but it's not nearly good enough to get a four or five, those ratings are there for games like Goldeneye! I rented the game yesterday, and I got frustrated, because first of all, you have to have a "controller pack", (I always called them memery packs), but anyway, that's what screws you, because once you turn the game off, you have to start alllllllllllll over again, which sucks, believe me! Second of all, ... the camera views will definetly screw you, and I use that word loosely, because when your in a bad position, like in front of a bad guy, the camera won't give you the angle you want, no sirre, it gives you a behind the trees view, giving you a better chance at getting shot. And the third thing, which might be worse for some people, theres not much you do but go around shooting people, which is cool, but it gets old, and it gets old fast! I wish it had objectives like in goldeneye. But if your looking for a game that will be awesome at first, and then screw you, get this game. Ok, so maybe I am too hard on this game, if you've got the time to master the controls, and get used to the camera view, ok, get winback, but if your looking for a cool first person shooter, get goldeneye! It's the best game yet! Believe me, I'm a 14 year old critic/gamer, just like you, and I read these reviews just like you, so go back and look at what I have said, because I'm sitting here typing this review so you wont throw your money out, like I would have if I had bought this game, before renting it. Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helps you in making the right decision!
